On 14 November, Vicometech’s Gorka Vélez, Technical Coordinator of 5GMETA, presented 5GMETA in the 5G-PPP 5G for CAM Working Group (WG). The 5G-Infrastructure Public Private Partnership (5G-PPP) is a joint initiative between the European Commission and European ICT industry that for the last seven years has worked to deliver solutions, architectures, technologies and standards for the deployment of 5G technologies in the communication sector.

The 5G for CAM WG was established as a means to support 5G technology for Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) activities funded under EU Programmes covering both R&I and deployment activities. The objective of Mr Vélez’s presentation was to disseminate the results of the 5GMETA project and to receive feedback from other experts.  European Commission representatives who followed the meeting assessed the work presented positively.

5GMETA recently ended its first phase, which culminated with an official report submitted to the European Commission and the first Periodic review at the end of September. In order to achieve successful outcomes during the second phase, and increase the Project’s impact, 5GMETA needs to interact with other similar projects and benefit from the information exchange that such cooperation offers.

Dr Vélez’s participation in the 5G-PPP WG helped to amplify 5GMETA’s mission and progress.  Feedback from the session will also be useful for the technical improvement of the 5GMETA platform and will aid in enhancing the architecturing and deployment of use cases.
